乌克兰局势也对油价起到支撑。俄罗斯7日推出首批有实质意义的反制裁措施，宣布从当天起，对原产于多个西方国家的部分类别食品停止进口，并禁止乌克兰航空公司中转航班飞越俄罗斯领空。俄罗斯是全球重要的原油出口国，俄罗斯出口欧洲的原油和天然气大部分经过乌克兰。市场担忧该地区地缘局势紧张将给全球原油供应带来风险。
当日美国公布的经济数据也偏好。美国劳工部7日公布的数据显示，在截至8月2日的一周，美国首次申请失业救济人数较前一周下降1.4万人至28.9万，显示美国就业市场继续好转。
截至当日收盘时，纽约商品交易所9月交货的轻质原油期货价格上涨0.42美元，收于每桶97.34美元。9月交货的伦敦布伦特原油期货价格上涨0.85美元，收于每桶105.44美元。
