此次会议上，TÜV SÜD PMSS项目管理业务总监Nigel Crowe 先生表示，自2000年来，全球风力发电机组的容量呈几何攀升，截至2013年已经达到318GW，并预计到2018年有近一倍的增长空间。其中中国表现最为突出，2013年中国新增风电装机容量为16GW，占全球所有新增风电装机容量的45％，成为单年增幅最大的市场。
同时，Nigel Crowe 先生对风电成本做了总结和预测，他说：“风力发电成本是厂商与投资者一直以来最关心的话题，随着技术的改进，在过去20年间，风电成本降低了约55%至60%，预计到2025年将低于其他能源水平。由此，全球风电市场，尤其以中国为首的亚洲市场在可预见的未来潜力巨大。”
